Pistol Performance for patrol
ABOUT THIS COURSE
PTG Pistol Performance Development is a two-day, law enforcement-only firearms training course designed to develop and refine the handgun performance of patrol officers. Building on the fundamentals of efficient pistol shooting, this course focuses on the mechanics, visual processing, and performance standards necessary to operate a duty handgun effectively in the varied conditions encountered in law enforcement.
Students will work through the mechanics of marksmanship, vision, input, first-shot efficiency, target transitions, movement, positional shooting, and one-handed shooting. Additional instruction addresses duty equipment considerations, vehicle considerations, low-light performance, and target discrimination
Through structured live-fire training, performance-based drills, and formal evaluations, officers will have opportunities to assess their current abilities, identify areas for improvement, and measure their performance against established standards.
Pistol Performance for Patrol is intended for sworn law enforcement officers seeking to improve their individual handgun performance and apply those skills within the context of patrol duties.
