Firearms Safety & Student Accountability
Palmetto Training Group maintains strict standards for safe firearm handling, and students should expect to be critically evaluated and corrected on all aspects of firearms safety throughout the course. PTG does not offer open-enrollment courses for individuals who have never handled a firearm or who cannot demonstrate the ability to handle one safely. Unsafe firearm handling—including poor trigger discipline, inadequate muzzle awareness, or any other violation of fundamental safety principles—will not be tolerated. Students who demonstrate unsafe behavior may be immediately removed from the course without a refund. Every individual on the range shares responsibility for maintaining a safe training environment. Regardless of experience or position, every student is expected to remain vigilant, recognize unsafe behavior, and speak up when a safety concern arises. Safety is a shared responsibility, not solely the instructor’s job.
